AM Preschool

 

8:15 A – 11:15 A

This is a developmentally appropriate program for children ages 3-5. A balanced and structured program is offered that includes structured and unstructured learning times, social snack, outdoor learning/recess, circle time includes, storytelling, calendar, weather, music, movement, finger plays, and sign language and choice time learning centers which may include art, math, science, language, group led activities, games, writer’s workshop, dramatic play, sensory table, construction/blocks, mail box/letter writing, reading, games, etc…).  This program is a great way to build a wonderful learning foundation for pre-schoolers readying themselves to enter kindergarten.

AM 2/3 Day Preschool

Full-Day w/Extended Care

 

7:30 A – 6:00 P

 

This is a full-day educational program designed with working parents in mind (see AM Preschool Description)

 

PM Kindergarten Extension

 

11:30 A – 2:30 P

 

A balanced and structured program is offered that includes lunch for students arriving at 11:30 AM (parents provide the lunch), social snack, outdoor learning/recess, group time (includes storytelling, music, movement, finger plays, sign language, Spanish and choice time learning centers which may include art, math, science, language, group led activities, games, writer’s workshop, dramatic play, sensory table, construction/blocks, mail box/letter writing, reading, games, etc…).  This program is a great way to extend a kindergartener’s short learning day. 

PM 2/3 Day

Kindergarten Extension w/Extended Care

This program is designed for the kindergartner’s workingparents in mind (See PM Kindergarten Extension Description)

After School and Extended Care

 

3:00 P – 6:00 P

 

Country Kids is located on the Jacob Wismer bus line.  Children are met at the bus stop by a staff member.  Afternoon activities include recess, snack, homework (with tutoring if needed), and a large selection of choice time activities.  The “home-away-from-home” environment is a welcome change for students after spending a full day on their school campus.

Morning Meeting

 

Tuesday/Wednesday
9-9:30 Music Therapy provided by Earthtones Music Therapy Services

We come together every morning as a community to share, sing songs, discuss classroom issues, practice Zoo Phonics, update our calendar and to read good stories or poetry.

9:30-10 A

Outdoor Learning/Recess
*recess is in the fenced backyard (indoor movement activities are provided on stormy days)

Outdoor time is an important opportunity for physical development.  It’s a chance to develop large muscles through running, climbing, riding and more.  We play outside every day, weather permitting.

10 – 10:15 A

AM Snack

Social skills are practiced at the snack table. Quiet conversations, good manners and self-help skills (e.g. table setting, table cleaning, and hand washing) are emphasized.

10:15 - 11 A

AM Choice and Project Work

Children make choices from a variety of possibilities.   Small groups of children will also work on projects during this time.

11–11:15 A

Closing Circle

We end morning preschool as we read stories, sing, and reflect on the day as we say our good-byes.

SQUIRT

uper Quiet Reading Time)                              

The children may choose to read books solo, with a friend, at the listening center, or may work in a small reading group with a teacher.

12:30-2:10 P

PM Circle & Group Work

 12:30–1:30   Author’s Workshop, Math, Social Studies, Music or Science                                  

1:30–2:10  Choice Time                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       

Afternoon circle consists of a mini-lesson in writing, math, science, social studies or music.  Group or individual work is included during this time up until 1:30 when the children are ‘free’ to choose a choice-time activity.  Some small group activities are also offered or available during choice time.

Quiet Rest

Quiet rest time will be provided for all students who stay until 6 PM. Nap mats and books will be provided.
